THE WINE
Lynx Rosso vermouth, a product of the esteemed Cesconi winery, is a wine-based alcoholic drink with a rich history. Its roots can be traced back to ancient Greece, but the recipes we know today originated in the 18th century in Piedmont, the heart of the liqueur tradition. The name Vermouth, derived from Germany, was used to describe Artemisia Absinthium, the natural aromatic base of Vermouth.
THE WINEMAKING
The Lynx red vermouth is produced with Lagrein wine from the Cesconi winery and a selection of mountain botanical herbs. The primary herbs are mugwort, woodruff, gentian root, sage, rosemary, and rhubarb. The process starts with the infusion of the artemisia in the wine; after a few days, the other aromatic herbs are added.
The wine is then fortified with alcohol and sugar until it reaches an alcohol content of 17 degrees. Before bottling, the Vermouth refines to allow all the components to blend and achieve the perfect aroma.
THE TASTING
Very intense garnet red. The aroma is fierce, with light hints of ripe fruit that leave room for intense spicy hints from aromatic herbs. This Vermouth is pleasantly bitter on the palate, with a perfect correspondence between aromas and flavour. It is persistent, with a pleasant aftertaste of dried fruit.
FOOD PAIRINGS
