THE WINE
The Malvasia of the Borgo San Daniele winery is produced with 100% Malvasia grapes grown in Giassico, a small village just outside Cormons in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Here the air still has the fragrance of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
THE WINEMAKING
After manual harvesting, only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for winemaking. A short maceration is followed by a soft pressing. Fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature. As for the refinement, the wine rests on the yeasts in a micro-oxygenation environment until the spring following the harvest. 20% in oak barrels and the remaining 80% in steel.
THE TASTING
Intense straw yellow with golden reflections. The aroma is aromatic with pleasant fruity hints of mandarin that alternate with floral notes of lime blossom. Fresh and sapid on the palate with a pleasant persistence and a slight aftertaste of ginger. To try!
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with fish, white meat and medium-aged cheeses but also with vegetable soups. Must try with grilled fish.

THE WINERY
Borgo San Daniele is a winery made up of people, two in particular, the Alessandra and Mauro Mauri (brother and sister). As children, Alessandra and Mauro spent a lot of time with their grandparents. The grandparents were farmers and winemakers and owned a small company where everyone did a bit of everything. The time spent with the grandparents allowed Alessandra and Mauro to fall in love with farming and winemaking to the point that Alessandra undertook her studies as an agricultural expert and Mauro in oenology and viticulture… go to the winery page
