The wine Malvasia Confinis from Francesco Rotolo winery

This Malvasia, like all Confinis wines, is relatively young; in fact, the winery was founded in 2017 from the will of Francesco Rotolo, who, in addition to being a young winemaker, is also a son of art; in fact, his family created two wineries, Mario Schiopetto and Volpe Pasini.

Francesco selected a few hectares of hills between Capriva del Friuli and Cormons where, thanks to his experience, he wants to create fresh and pleasant wines with low alcohol content.

The Malvasia is a widespread vine in Italy, Austria and Slovenia. In Friuli, this vine allows for producing a dry white wine with a great personality and well-defined aromatic notes.

THE WINEMAKING

The harvest is strictly manual and occurs in the second half of September . Once in the cellar, the must ferments in steel for a period ranging between 10 and 12 days at a controlled temperature of 15/16° C. The wine ages in steel for about seven months, and after bottling, it rests in the cellar for a few months before being placed on the market.

Tasting the wine by Francesco Rotolo 

Bright yellow with bright reflections. The aroma is fresh, with pleasant notes of white flowers intertwined with hints of sweet yellow fruit. Enveloping and soft on the palate with a nice saline note and a pleasantly floral finish.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Excellent with fish appetizers, also fried, and with vegetables. Try it with cod.
