THE WINE
The Malvasia from the Fiegl winery comes from 100% Malvasia Istriana grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery. We are in Oslavia, a small hamlet of Gorizia, right on the border with Slovenia. The ventilated microclimate, the important temperature variations between day and night, and the soil that they call ponca here make this area of Friuli Venezia Giulia an ideal place for growing vines.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual, and only the selected grapes are taken to the cellar for winemaking.Winemaking and fermentation occur in white; the wine ages in stainless steel tanks, and after blending and bottling, it rests for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow with golden reflections. The aroma is intense and delicate, with pleasant floral scents where acacia prevails, leaving room for fruity notes of tropical and citrus fruits. Aromatic and fresh on the palate, with an excellent correspondence between aromas and flavour. Persistence is also remarkable.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent with medium-hard cheeses and fish, especially if spicy. Try it with sautéed mussels and clams.
