The wine from Tiare winery
The Friulano produced by Tiare Winery is 100% Friulano grapes, which grow in the vineyards owned by the winery, located in Dolegna del Collio, in the heart of the DOC Collio region; this area is renowned for its soil, rich in stratified marl and sandstone, which imparts unique qualities to the wines.
THE WINEMAKING
Harvesting is manual and occurs in the last ten days of September. Once the grapes are in the cellar, the winemaking process begins with a brief maceration, followed by a gentle pressing. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, using only selected yeasts. The wine ages 80% in stainless steel tanks and 20% in oak barrels. At the end of February, the wine is blended, bottled, and allowed to rest for a few additional months in the cellar before being released to the market.
Tasting the Friulano from Tiare
The wine has a straw yellow colour with golden reflections. The aroma is pleasant, featuring floral scents that blend with notes of dried fruit, finishing with hints of citrus. It is dry and full-bodied on the palate, with a remarkable alignment between the aromas and flavours. It also has excellent persistence.
