The Merlot from the Castello di Spessa winery

The Merlot from Castello di Spessa is born from the collaboration with the oenologist Enrico Paternoster, from Trentino Alto Adige, who combines freshness and refinement with structure and longevity to all the wines of the winery. The vineyards are located in Cormons in the heart of the DOC Friuli where the soil is mainly made up of clay and sand with gravel.

THE WINEMAKING

After the harvest which takes place in the first ten days of October, the grapes are brought to the cellar for the winemaking which takes place in steel at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged for about 12 months in large oak barrels. After refining, the winery proceeds with the assembly and bottling; the wine is then left to rest for a few more months in the cellar before being placed on the market.

Tasting the wine of the winery

Intense ruby Red. Fruity sensations of red fruits such as blackberry, cranberry and black cherry are followed by pleasant balsamic and spicy notes Velvety, warm, and harmonious on the palate. Well-balanced.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Perfect with red meats and medium and hard cheeses. Must try with braised meat.
