The Rum Koytchi by Ron Millionario
The Koytchi Rum is born to pay homage to the seven-coloured mountain Vinikunka, discovered during the numerous trips of Ron Millonario executives to Peru. In particular, this spirit honours Kuytch, the Inca goddess of the rainbow, and is made with Ron Millonario enriched with natural aromas of cocoa and dulce de leche.
The bottle design and packaging are modern, elegant and very colourful to recall the rainbow goddess Kuytch; for this bottle, the innovative transparent glass cap is white.
The Tasting
The aroma is soft and buttery with pleasant hints of dried fruit that intertwines with dates and vanilla to close with puffs of chocolate; soft and enveloping on the palate, with a pleasant flavour of raisins, but also dates and milk chocolate. It is a warm and sweet rum, easy to drink that invites you to take another sip and continue drinking it. The finish is persistent with a spicy aftertaste reminiscent of hot peppers.
Perfect as a base for your cocktails; we recommend tasting the Koytchi Rum by Ron Millonario also neat with ice.
The distillery producing Koytchi Rum and many other rums
Ron Millionario was officially born in 1950, but its history begins much earlier and more precisely in 1904 when a group of farmers founded the Hacienda Agrícola de Chiclayo, a small refinery to trade their sugar in north Peru.
In 1922, the Peruvian landowner family Piera de Castillo purchased the hacienda, the refinery and the vast sugar cane plantation.
In 1933, Don Rolando, the founder of the Piera de Castillo family, sent his firstborn Augusto, to study chemical engineering at Cambridge University. In the summer of 1938, Augusto returned to Peru from England with a ship full of valuable machinery needed to distil rum.
