The wine Franciacorta P. R. Brut from Monte Rossa Winery
The sparkling wine Franciacorta P. R. Brut Blanc de Blancs, produced by Cantina Monte Rossa, was created to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the company. The name P.R. pays homage to the founders of Monte Rossa, Paola Rovetta and Paolo Rabotti, pioneers of Franciacorta. This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. The DOCG designation (Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin) certifies its superior quality and controlled origin, a recognition granted only to wines that exceed rigorous production standards.
Winemaking
Winemaking takes place through a careful selection of the grapes, which are hand-picked to ensure maximum quality. After gentle pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures to preserve the aromas. Subsequently, the base wine is blended and undergoes bottle fermentation, a process that lasts at least 24 months, during which the wine gains complexity and finesse.
Tasting Monte Rossa Wine
It has a bright straw-yellow colour and a fine, persistent foam; the aroma offers a rich and complex bouquet, with notes of white fruit, predominantly peach, followed by hints of lime and white flowers, continuing with white pepper and finishing with a delicate aroma of bread crust. On the palate, it is fresh, with a perfect balance between acidity and salinity, and has a good structure. The finish is long and clean.
Food Pairings
It is ideal with fish appetizers, shellfish, and seafood, but it also pairs well with fish-based first courses or risottos; additionally, the classic method Brut DOCG perfectly accompanies white meats and fresh cheeses. Its versatility makes it an excellent choice for many occasions, from elegant dinners to simple aperitifs.
