The Pinot Noir Glen from Castelfeder winery
The Pinot Noir Glen from the Castelfeder winery takes its name from the place of origin; for the estate, Glen has the most significant historical importance because the founder Alfons Giovanett invested in 1969. Thanks to the afternoon sun, the terroir (a mix of limestone and porphyry), and the altitudes range from 450 to 790m above sea level, we have the ideal conditions to produce this elegant Pinot Noir.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual. Once in the cellar, the selected grapes are destemmed and left to macerate in steel tanks for ten to fourteen days. The wine ages about twelve months in small used barrels; after assembly and bottling, it rests for about three months in the cellar before being released on the market.
Tasting the Pinot Noir Glen from Castelfeder
Ruby red with garnet hues. The aroma is delicate, with pleasant hints of red fruits where blackberry and cherry prevail, alternating with vanilla notes to close with light hints of spices. This Pinot Noir is well balanced on the palate with an excellent correspondence between aromas and flavour. Fresh, with a long and persistent finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Pinot Noir Glen goes well with red meats, game and hard cheeses. Try it with braised meat.
