The wine Pinot Noir Bio by Antico Broilo winery
The Pinot Noir of the Antico Broilo winery is produced with 100% Pinot Nero grapes. Prepotto, the production area, is a beautiful Oasis on the border between Slovenia and the Collio. The breezy micro climate and the moderate and cool temperatures are able to guarantee those spiciness that characterize the wines of Antico Broilo.
This is a small winery with only six hectares of land. It is managed by the Durì family, in full respect of tradition and nature. They are a fully certified organic winery.
Pinot Noir is a vine whose name derives from “pine cone”, and more precisely “small pine cone”, this name was picked because of the modest size of the bunch, characterized by dense berries, close together like the scales of a pine cone.
THE WINEMAKING
The grapes are harvested manually and placed in boxes to keep the bunch as intact as possible. The winemaking and fermentation are done in a traditional and spontaneous way where only indigenous yeasts are used. The wine ages for 24 months in brriques.
Tasting the wine by Antico Broilo
Pale red color. The aroma is elegant with hints of cherry, raspberry, strawberry and blueberry that leave room for floral notes of violet. Thanks to the aging in barrique, we can identified aromas of vanilla and delicate licorice. Warm and soft on the palate; a great refined and elegant wine with velvety tannins. Excellent correspondence between taste and aromas. Persistence is also good.
FOOD PAIRING
Pinot Noir is a meditation wine, which goes very well if tasted alone; interesting with pasta dishes with meat sauces, or game.
