The Wine
The Petit Manseng of the Franz Haas winery is produced with 100% petit manseng grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery. It is a grape with very sparse bunches, tiny berries and thick skin. The vineyards grow on alluvial soils at an altitude that varies between 220 and 320 meters above sea level..
The Haas family has been running this winery for seven generations, and over the years, it has become one of the flags of South Tyrol.
THE WINEMAKING
After manual harvesting, the selected grapes are taken to the cellar for winemaking. The must ferment in French oak barriques, where it ages at least ten months; after bottling, it rests for several months before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow. The aroma is pleasantly fruity with hints of dried fruit that intertwine with mineral notes. Savoury on the palate, with good structure and acidity; the finish is also long and persistent.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with fish and white meats. Try it with spicy Asian dishes.
