THE WINE
The Pian del Ciampolo from Montevertine winery is produced with 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino grapes. It is the simplest wine produced by the winery and is suitable for all occasions.
THE WINEMAKING
After the strictly manual harvest, only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for winemaking. The must ferments for about 25 days in concrete tanks. The refinement takes place in Slavonian oak barrels. where the wine rests for 12 months; after bottling it remains in the cellar for another 3 months.
THE TASTING
Ruby red. The aroma is fruity with notes of small red fruits that intertwine well with light puffs of licorice. Intense and full-bodied on the palate, with strong tannins. Also the freshness and flavor are beautiful. Of great balance with a persistent finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with red meats, game and hared cheeses. Try it with cold cuts.
