THE WINE
The Pinot Bianco from the Bastianich winery is 100% Pinot Bianco grapes grown in the estate vineyards in Buttrio, Premariacco, Cividale, and Prepotto in Friuli Venezia Giulia. We are in the heart of the DOC Colli Orientali del Friuli.
THE WINEMAKING
After the harvest, the grapes are selected on sorting tables and then destemmed and pressed; the must sets before starting the winemaking. Fermentation occurs in steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 16 and 18 degrees. The wine refines in steel tanks for about five months. During the refining period, the winery practices periodic movement of the yeasts (batonnage), allowing the enrichment of the wine with natural antioxidants. After filtration, the wine is bottled and left to rest for a few more months in the cellar before being released onto the market.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow, the aroma is elegant, with pleasant hints of white flowers that leave room for fruity hints of apricot and bread crust. This wine is well structured with good acidity on the palate, excellent correspondence between aromas and flavor, and a long and persistent finish
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with fish, white meat, and cold cuts.
