The Verduzzo from the Crastin winery
The Verduzzo from Crastin Winery is a wine made from pure Verduzzo grapes grown on Rottars hills within the Collio DOC denomination of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. It is an indigenous grape variety known for its versatility and ability to best express the characteristics of the terroir; the wine from Crastin Winery represents the essence of this variety, with a quality that reflects the area’s microclimate and soil.
The Winemaking
The grapes are strictly hand-harvested at the end of September, placed in crates, and immediately taken to the winery for vinification. After careful selection, the grapes are destemmed, crushed, and left to macerate for three days at a controlled temperature of 15°C to extract all the aromas; after pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature; after blending and bottling, it rests for a few more months in the cellar before being released to the market.
