The Wine
The Pinot Bianco from the Kettmeir winery is produced with 100% Pinot Bianco grapes grown on the medium-high hills of Oltreadige. We are in Bassa Atesina, between 450 – 700 meters above sea level. Here the soils are of calcareous origin, rich in clay.
THE WINEMAKING
The manual harvest takes place from mid-September to the 10th of October, and only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar. The winemaking is traditional in white with a soft pressing of the grapes and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 17-18 ° C. The wine then ages on the lees in steel tanks until the end of January. The product is then bottled and left to rest for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow with light greenish reflections. The aroma is fresh with pleasant floral notes of wisteria that alternate well with fruity hints of green apple. Dry on the palate with good acidity, persistent and delicately mineral.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Ideal with light appetizers, it goes very well with fish and shellfish. A must try with asparagus.
