THE WINE
The Pinot Bianco from the Terlano winery comes from pure Pinot Bianco grapes, which are grown in the vineyards owned by the winemakers who are members of the Tarlano cooperative winery. We are in Terlano in the province of Bolzano in Trentino Alto Adige; in 1893, the town’s winemakers decided to work together and founded the cooperative winery; it was a far-sighted vision, in fact, today, all wine lovers know Tarlano for the quality of its wines.
This Pinot Blanc is one of the most important wines of the winery and fully reflects the terror from which it comes: a very refined white.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is also strictly manual because all the vineyards are on the hills, at an altitude between 350 and 900 meters above sea level and with a slope from 5 to 70%. Once in the cellar, the grapes are manually selected and softly pressed. Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in steel tanks; the wine ages in steel vats for at least 6-7 months, and after blending and bottling, it rests for a few more months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Light straw yellow with light greenish reflections; the aroma is exquisite with pleasant fruity notes of pear and apple that intertwine with hints of gooseberry, which in turn leave room for puffs of chamomile and hints of lemongrass. Fresh and pleasantly salty on the palate with a perfect correspondence between aromas and flavour and long persistence.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent with white meat and fish, soft cheeses, and vegetarian dishes. Try it with stuffed courgette flowers.
