THE WINE
The classic Pinot Blanc Vulpes of the Del Poggio winery is part of the Vulpes line; this line takes its name from the stream that crosses the property and recalls the presence of the typical animals of the Friulian hills, the foxes.
The winery cultivates its vineyards following the voluntarily integrated production specification of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, which aims to minimize technical means that impact the environment and promote a natural environmental balance.
THE WINEMAKING
The grape harvest is strictly manual and takes place in September when the grapes are slightly overripe. Once in the cellar, the winemaking starts with the soft pressing of the grapes; after a few hours of contact with the skins, the must ferments in steel at a controlled temperature. The wine then ages on the lees for six months with frequent batonnage. After bottling, the wine rests in the cellar for a few more months before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow; the aroma is elegant with pleasant, delicate floral scents that alternate with hints of white-fleshed fruit to close with citrus hints. Well structured on the palate, Pleasantly savoury, it invites you to keep drinking; good correspondence between aromas and flavours. Persistence is also good.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with fish, raw fish, cold cuts and medium-hard cheeses. Try it with ham and melon.
