The Wine
The Pinot Grigio of the Bervini winery is produced with Pinot Grigio grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery and located in Sequals in the province of Pordenone, in the heart of the DOC Grave del Friuli. All the vineyards don’t use herbicides, chemical fertilizers and synthetic insecticides but only products the community regulation allows. The winery believes organic farming is the right choice to protect the environment and human health. For them, it is essential to work as nature commands.
This Pinot Grigio is part of the “55” line, representing the business’s beginning. The Bervini winery was founded in 1955, willing to focus on the local vines much appreciated by the local community and now available to a broader public.
THE WINEMAKING
After harvesting, the selected grapes are taken to the cellar for winemaking. TAfter a soft pressing of the grapes, the fermentation occurs in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16/18°C. The wine then ages in steel, and after blending and bottling, it rests for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Pale straw yellow. The aroma is pleasantly intense, with fruity notes alternating with hints of acacia and hawthorn to close with puffs of crusty bread. Soft and savoury on the palate, the correspondence between aromas, flavour, and persistence is also good.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with fish and white meats. Try it with grilled fish.
