The Pinot Grigio Ramat wine of the Jerman winery
The Pinot Grigio Ramat by Jermann is a prestigious white wine that comes from vineyards located in the heart of the Collio region, an internationally renowned wine area known for its extraordinary quality and variety of wines. The Jermann family, keepers of a winemaking tradition passed down through generations, has managed to secure a prominent place both in Italy and on the global wine scene. Their dedication to quality and love for the land are reflected in every bottle, making the Pinot Grigio Ramat not just a wine, but a unique sensory experience.
The Jerman winery was the first in Friuli to use the Stelvin screw cap model of the French company Pechiney: the winery chose this very technical closure to keep the fragrance and organoleptic qualities of the wine intact.
The winemaking
The winemaking process for Pinot Grigio Ramat is meticulous, beginning with the selection of grapes, exclusively of the Pinot Grigio variety. These are harvested at the right level of ripeness to ensure maximum aromatic expression. A distinctive phase of the winemaking is the pre-fermentation, which involves a cold maceration on the skins for about 4 hours. This step is crucial for extracting the aromatic compounds and the characteristic color of the wine. Subsequently, the must is fermented and aged on the lees in stainless steel tanks for about 6 months. This long aging period contributes to the wine’s complexity and structure, allowing the Pinot Grigio Ramat to develop a rich and articulated organoleptic profile.
Tasting the wine of the winery
Upon tasting, the Pinot Grigio Ramat presents an enchanting bright copper-pink color that immediately captures attention. On the nose, it opens with an intense aromatic bouquet characterized by scents of ripe peach, apricot, and acacia flowers. These fresh and fruity aromas blend harmoniously, creating an enveloping and inviting olfactory experience. On the palate, the wine reveals itself to be fresh and vibrant, with good persistence that invites further sipping. Its well-balanced acidity provides a pleasant sense of lightness, making the Pinot Grigio Ramat an extremely versatile wine.
Food Pairing
The Pinot Grigio Ramat pairs magnificently with a variety of dishes thanks to its freshness and complexity. It is ideal for seafood soups, where its acidity can enhance the flavors of the sea, as well as for grilled seafood, which complements the wine’s fruity notes perfectly. Additionally, it pairs splendidly with mushroom-based dishes, where its freshness contrasts and balances earthy flavors. The versatility of this wine also makes it an excellent choice as an aperitif, offering a satisfying tasting experience on any occasion. With Pinot Grigio Ramat, every meal can transform into a special moment, celebrating the union of wine and culinary art.
