THE WINE
The Pinot Nero from the Gori winery is produced with 100% pinot noir grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery . Pinot noir arrived in Friuli in recent times and found its best habitat in the Friulian hills; here it is caressed by the fresh winds coming from the mountains and takes full advantage of the temperature range typical of the area.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual with selection of the grapes in the vineyard. For what concerns the winemaking, the alcoholic fermentation takes place in French oak truncated cone fermenters, while the malolactic fermentation takes place in 500 liter Tonneau also of French oak. The wine ages in tonneau for a period ranging from 18 to 24 months depending on the vintage.
THE TASTING
Pale red with garnet hues. The aroma is very elegant with notes of small berries such as currants and raspberries that leave room for pleasant spicy sensations. Fine and with a nice tannic texture on the palate, excellent correspondence between aromas and flavor. Persistence is also very good.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent with white meats and medium hard cheeses. Must try with fish.
