THE WINE
The Pinot Noir from the La Vrille winery is produced with 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery and located in the municipalities of Verrayes and Chambave; between 450 and 650 meters above sea level. We are located in Valle d’Aosta on a moraine and sandy terroir.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual and only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for winemaking. Winemaking that begins with a cold pre-fermentation maceration, followed by a fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature of 22 °C, which lasts between 10 and 12 days. The wine then ages in large oak barrels for 12/15 months; after bottling it rests for another 18 months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Bright ruby red. The aroma is intense with pleasant fruity scents that alternate with floral ones. The notes of small red fruits stand out, giving way to scents of nutmeg and hints of cloves. Dry and well structured on the palate, the tannins are delicate and balanced. The persistence is long with a very good correspondence between aromas and flavor.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Perfect with meat and hard cheeses, but also with pasta dishes with meat sauces. Must try with cold cuts.
