The Lagrein Rieder from Castelfeder winery
Lagrein Rieder from Castelfeder Winery is made from pure Lagrein grapes and takes its name from the company’s vineyards where it is grown. Lagrein is a native vine from Alto Adige that loves soils rich in debris from rivers and a warm and sunny position. For these reasons, the ideal areas range from Bolzano to Egna.
THE WINEMAKING
Harvesting is strictly manual. Once in the cellar, the selected grapes are destemmed and left to macerate in steel tanks for at least two weeks. Fermentation occurs in steel; the wine ages on the fine lees, always in steel for at least six months. After assembly and bottling, the wine rests in the cellar for a few more months before being released onto the market.
Tasting the Lagrein Rieder from Castelfeder
Intense and brilliant ruby red in. The aroma is complex, with pleasant floral hints of violets that alternate with fruity notes of berries. Fresh on the palate, this Lagrein Rieder has an excellent acidity that invites you to drink with fine and well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and pleasantly persistent.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Pinot Noir Glen goes well with red meats, game and hard cheeses. Try it with mushroom risotto.
