THE WINE
The Primitivo di Manduria Altemura from the Masseria Altamura winery is produced with 100% Primitivo di Manduria grapes. We are talking about one of the most important grape varieties present in the Apulian territory. A wine that well represents the character of this region of southern Italy.
THE WINEMAKING
The grapes are harvested manually only when fully ripe and only the selected ones are taken to the cellar for winemaking. Fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature that varies between 25 and 28 degrees and lasts about 21 days. The wine then ages in French oak tonneau for 14 months and after bottling it rests for another 8 months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense red almost purple. The aroma is elegant with hints of ripe berries that alternate well with spicy notes of pepper and leather; ending with light balsamic puffs. Warm and soft on the palate; it is certainly a full-bodied wine with good persistence.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with both white and red meat and medium-hard cheeses. It loves spicy dishes; must try with Indian cuisine.
