THE WINE
The Ramandolo “Uve Decembrine” from the Giovanni Dri winery The Roncat is produced with 100% Verduzzo grapes grown in the vines owned by the winery. We are located at 300-350 meters above sea level in the Ramandolo locality. A unique area rich in history from which this wine takes its name.
THE WINEMAKING
This wine is called “Uve Decembrine” because the grapes are harvested between the end of November and the beginning of December, when the ripening is very advanced. The harvest is strictly manual, and once harvested, the grapes are left to dry for a period that varies according to the vintage before proceeding with the winemaking. After fermentation, the wine ages in French oak barriques. Bottling follows and rests for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Amber in colour. The aroma is vibrant and elegant, with pleasant floral scents that alternate with ripe fruit such as orange and apricot to finish with pleasing hints of honey and sensations of saffron. Very balanced on the palate, sweet but never cloying, with a good correspondence between aromas and flavour.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It is perfect as a meditation wine, and it goes well with blue cheeses and dry pastries. A must try with foie gras.
