THE WINE
The Ramitello Biferno Rosso from the Di Majo Norante winery is a blend of Montepulciano grapes for 80% and Aglianico for 20%. The grapes grow in the vineyards located in Ramitello, an area about 100 meters above sea level where the soil is mainly clayey.
THE WINEMAKING
After the manual harvest, which takes place in mid October, only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar. The winemaking takes place in the traditional way, with maceration on the skins for about 1 month and fermentation at a controlled temperature in steel. The wine ages for at least 6 months, one part in barrique and one part in steel tanks. After blending and bottling, the wine rests for a further 6 months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Ruby red with violet reflections. The aroma is intense with pleasant hints of plum, enriched by elegant spicy notes of leather and licorice. Pleasantly soft and velvety on the palate, very well balanced with good persistence.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with red meat but also with white meat. Meat sauces for pasta but also vegetable sauces.
