Album White Wine from Valpanera Winery
Album Bianco wine blends Malvasia Istriana, Chardonnay, and Riesling Renano grapes. The proportions of these grapes vary each year based on the characteristics of the vintage and the yield from the vineyards near Cortona di Fiumicello, where the Torre stream once flowed. The soils in this area are rich in limestone and primarily composed of silt, sand, and gravel.
This wine is an elegant and delicate blend, noted for its pleasant freshness and lingering finish.
THE WINEMAKING
The grape harvest is conducted entirely by hand and occurs in the first half of September. The Chardonnay and Malvasia Istriana grapes are harvested first, followed by the Riesling grapes. Each variety is wine made separately. The Chardonnay and Malvasia undergo cold maceration, while the Riesling ferments in stainless steel tanks; after fermentation, the three musts refine in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Once blended to create the Album Bianco, the wine is bottled; it ages for several months in the cellar before being released to the market.
Tasting the wine by Valpanera
Straw-yellow, the aroma offers a delicate scent with pleasant fruity notes, dominated by Williams pear and complemented by floral hints of elderflower, finishing with subtle notes of honey. It is well structured and round on the palate, thanks to the Chardonnay and Malvasia, while the Riesling Renano adds finesse and clarity. The finish is long and pleasantly persistent.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Album White pairs well with fish, white meats, and medium-aged cheeses. Due to its versatile characteristics, it is an excellent choice for any part of the meal.
