THE WINE
The Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso from the Ronchi di Cialla winery is 100% Refosco grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the company, located in the Valle di Cialla in Prepotto in Friuli Venezia Giulia, an area very suitable for the cultivation of grape.
An indigenous Friulian grape variety, the Refosco by Ronchi di Cialla is a great wine that matures for a year and a half in a barrique and for at least four years in a bottle. Once you put it in your cellar, you can leave it there for over twenty years; a real gem.
THE WINEMAKING
After manual harvesting, the selected grapes are taken to the cellar for winemaking; it begins with a maceration on the skins for approximately four weeks. The wine ages for approximately 14 to 18 months in barriques, 90% French oak and 10% Slovenian oak. After blending and bottling, the wine rests for 50 months before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense ruby red with violet reflections; the nose opens with pleasant hints of cherry and blackberry jam leaving room for speciated sensations of graffiti. As it ages, it becomes enriched with puffs of liquorice and spices. Warm and well-balanced on the palate, complex with a well-defined and sweet tannin that becomes silky with time. Very long persistence.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with red meats, feathered game and hard but not spicy cheeses. Try it with grilled meat
