Maniura gin by the distillery Amazzori
Maniura from the Amazzoni distillery is the Old Tom version of the classic Amázzoni gin. The Old Tom version is a sweeter and more rounded gin thanks to the sugar or syrup added during production. The recipe requires that lemon peel and lemongrass macerate before distillation in the large copper still, handcrafted entirely in Brazil.
A gin where lemon and lemongrass create a strong citric profile, balanced by the softness of the sugary note typical of the category.
The Tasting
Golden yellow with pleasant hints of lemon and lemongrass that alternate with elegant floral notes; it is pleasantly spicy in the mouth with notes of pink pepper that alternate with hints of sweet citrus; the finish is long and persistent. This gin takes its name from the Maniuara ant, an insect from the rainforest widely used in Amazonian cuisine, giving a spicy and spicy taste to dishes.
This Maniura gin, thanks to its low alcohol content and citrus flavour, is perfect for your cocktails with citrus fruits but also neat with lots of ice.
The distillery Amazzoni producing the Maniura gin and many others.
It is located in La Cachoeira and it was born from an old 18th-century coffee farm and became the first gin-only distillery in Brazil. The genius behind this brand is Italian and is called Arturo Isola, but the company is 100% Brazilian. It is a proudly artisanal, local and independent company that has been able to blend and enhance the gifts of this enchanted land and the spirit of its people. It is a local company in philosophy, ingredients and production cycle.
Why should you try Amazzoni gins? Because in their gins, you will find purity from the water that nourishes the Amazon and gives life to their bottles. An original and surprising recipe with ingredients never used before, like cocoa, Brazilian chestnut, maxixe (a type of watermelon), water lily and cipò cravo (a local root).
You will find gins with character, perhaps against the grain but profoundly Brazilian. This distillery is not afraid to innovate while remaining respectful of centuries of tradition.
