The rum 10 Aniversario Riserva
Ron Millonario 10 Aniversario Riserva is produced with molasses from native South American sugar cane. Fermentation occurs thanks to local yeasts; distillation happens in the majestic Scottish still that dates back to 1938. This rum is two-thirds of 6-year-old rums aged in barrels that contained bourbon, which guarantees a fresh taste to the product, and one-third of 10-year-old rums in barrels that contained second passage Spanish sherry, giving drier and more vinous notes to the distillate.
This is a new recipe specially designed for a fresh, fragrant and easy version of the sweet and rich aromatic profile. The bottle design and packaging are modern and elegant, with an innovative black transparent glass cap.
The Tasting
The aroma is pleasantly sweet, with intense hints of vanilla that intertwine with bergamot and candied fruit to close with honey puffs. On the palate, it is rich, with deep notes of dark chocolate and dried fruit, such as raisins and apricots. The alcohol content accentuates the more vinous and chocolatey flavours.
Perfect for creating cocktails that require a sweet rum, Ron Millonario 10 Aniversario is ideal dry with ice.
The distillery producing rum 10 Aniversario Riserva and many other rums
Ron Millionario was officially born in 1950, but its history begins much earlier and more precisely in 1904 when a group of farmers founded the Hacienda Agrícola de Chiclayo, a small refinery to trade their sugar in north Peru.
In 1922, the Peruvian landowner family Piera de Castillo purchased the hacienda, the refinery and the vast sugar cane plantation.
In 1933, Don Rolando, the founder of the Piera de Castillo family, sent his firstborn Augusto, to study chemical engineering at Cambridge University. In the summer of 1938, Augusto returned to Peru from England with a ship full of valuable machinery needed to distil rum.
