The Prelit from the Damijan Podversic winery
The Prelit (which in local dialect means poured) from the Damijan Podversic winery, is a bland of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, whose vines are located in Monte Calvario and Piedimonte in the heart of the winery, and , the one in Piedimonte is one of the historical vines, and dates back to 1967.
THE WINEMAKING
After manual harvesting that takes place only when the grapes are fully ripe, the fermentation phase begins, on the skins for about 40 days, in conical truncated oak vats using only indigenous yeasts. The wine is then left to age for about 36 months in large oak barrels (20 or 30 hl) and after bottling, it rests for an additional 12 months before being placed on the market.
Tasting the wine of the winery
Ruby red with very intense aromas where notes if blueberry and cassis are mixed with hints of vanilla that give way to light scents of sweet spices.Intense and full bodied on the palate; well balanced with an excellent correspondence between the aromas and the taste. Excellent persistence. We are talking about an elegant and refined wine.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with red meats, game and hard cheeses. A must try with stew.

Damijan began his journey by taking care of the family vineyards where he could work closely with Josko Gravner; the person who taught him everything and that Danijan considers his mentor… go to the winery page
