The wine Schioppettino Bio by Antico Broilo winery
The Schioppettino of the Antico Broilo winery is produced with 100% Schioppettino grapes. We are talking about an autochthonous vine which is one of the flagship of the town of Prepotto in the Eastern Hills of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
This is a small winery with only six hectares of land. It is managed by the Durì family, in full respect of tradition and nature. They are a fully certified organic winery.
THE WINEMAKING
The grapes are harvested manually and placed in boxes in order to keep the bunch as intact as possible. The fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts only. The wine then ages in barrique for 24 months and after bottling it rests for another 24 months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
Tasting the wine by Antico Broilo
Intense ruby red with violet reflections. The aroma is elegant with hints of ripe red fruit, blueberry, blackberry, and cherries in alcohol that leave room for spicy notes such as black pepper. Warm on the palate this is a very elegant wine. Excellent correspondence between taste and aromas. Persistence is also good.
FOOD PAIRING
It goes well with red meat, game and hard cheeses.
