The Schioppettino Indigenously from the Vigna Lenuzza winery
This Schioppettino from the Vigna Lenuzza winery is one of the four wines part of the Indigenously line. This line has only autochthonous Prepotto vines in Friuli Venezia-Giulia, which grow in autochthonous terroirs, with minimal interventions and with biological agriculture. The cellar has chosen to macerate and mature these wines in “eggs” concrete tanks to enhance their expressions unique to the grape varieties.
The winery is certified organic and the owners call themselves “bio in the soul”; The Lenuzza family firmly believes that “The earth does not belong only to us. It must be respected in order to be passed down from generation to generation”
THE WINEMAKING
After the manual harvest, the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for winemaking; the grapes macerate for ten days”eggs” concrete tanks. The wine then ages for twenty months in truncated cone-shaped concrete vats. After blending and bottling, the wine rests for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
Tasting the wine of the winery
Vibrant red colour. The aroma is delicate and elegant with aromas of cherry and berries, which alternate with spicy notes of pepper and liquorice to close with balsamic puffs.
Velvety and vigorous on the palate, the tannins are well present but velvety. The correspondence between aromas and flavour is also excellent.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with red meat, game and hard cheeses. Also, try it with fatty fish such as turbot.
