THE WINE
The Schioppettino from the Le Due Terre winery is 100% Schioppettino grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery, located on a hill in Prepotto, not far from the border with Slovenia.
A winery producing about 17,000 bottles a year where wine and work in the vineyard are at the heart of the activities; this Schioppettino fully represents the winery’s philosophy.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is manual and only the selected grapes are taken to the cellar for the winemaking that begins with the fermentation in cement tanks, in contact with the skins for about fourteen days; the wine ages for about twenty-two months in new barriques. After assembly and bottling, the wine rests for another two years in the cellar before being released on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense ruby red with purple reflections; the aroma is fresh with hints of red fruits such as cherries in alcohol and blackberries that alternate with black pepper and cloves spicy puffs. This Schioppettino from the Le Due Terre winery is warm and balanced on the palate with silky and well-polished tannins and a pleasant freshness. The finish is long and persistent.
