THE WINE
The Schioppettino Rinera from the Ronchi di Cialla winery is 100% Schioppettino grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the company located in the Cialla Valley in the municipality of Prepotto in Friuli Venezia Giulia, an area very suitable for the cultivation of grapes.
Ronchi di Cialla is very fond of this native variety and since it started producing wine, it has spent a lot of energy to enhance the Schioppettino. Today, Ronchi di Cialla produces various labels dedicated to this grape.
THE WINEMAKING
After manual harvesting, the selected grapes are taken to the cellar for winemaking. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks with the sole use of indigenous yeasts. The wine ages in steel tanks for approximately twelve months; after blending and bottling, it rests for a few weeks in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Not too intense ruby red; the aroma opens with pleasant hints of pepper giving way to notes of small red fruits such as blackberry and blueberry. Fresh and tasty and full-bodied on the palate, well balanced with a good correspondence between aromas and flavour. Persistence is also good.
FOOD PAIRINGS
This Schioppettino Rinera from the Ronchi di Cialla winery goes well with white and red meats with feathered game and medium-hard cheeses. Try it with grilled meat.
