THE PRODUCT
The Tatsumi Gin from the Tatsumi distillery is a Japanese gin of absolute excellence. The only botanical herb used is juniper. The basic distillate is called “shochu” and is made from sweet potatoes and rice.
The processing is also very particular in fact this gin is produced in an ancient still (Kabutogama), which was widely used between 1600 and the second half of the nineteenth century; today it is still functioning only in very few excellent distilleries.
The aromas are elegant with evident notes of pine, alternating with hints of wood and citrus while on the palate you can really taste the juniper berries and the spicy notes.
Excellent to be tasted neat at room temperature but also cold in cocktails
