THE WINE
The Terrano of the Castelvecchio winery is made with 100% Terrano grapes grown in the heart of the DOC Carso, in the province of Gorizia.
THE WINEMAKING
After the harvest, only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for the traditional red winemaking; however , please note that the malolactic fermentation is not completed. The wine ages in steel for about 9 months and after assembly and bottling, for a further 3 months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense ruby red with violet reflections. The aroma is intense and fresh with pleasant notes of blackberries that are intertwined with hints of blueberry, plums and cherries. Sour and slightly metallic on the palate (this sensation is accentuated by the presence of malic acid), it is a lively and easy to drink wine.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with cold cuts and with the typical dishes of the Karst area. If drunk young it goes well with oily fish. Must try with eel.
