THE WINE
The organic Terravignata Verdicchio of the Borgo Paglianetto winery takes its name from the ancient times when it was said that if the rich landowners of Matelica had land cultivated with vines, they had “terre vignate”. It is produced with 100% Verdicchio grapes grown in compliance with the rules of organic agriculture.
THE WINEMAKING
After the manual harvest which takes place at the end of September, only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for winemaking. The must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The refinement takes place in steel where the wine rests on indigenous yeasts for about 4 months. Assembly, bottling and a short 2-month period of rest in the cellar follows before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow with golden reflections. This wine has plenty of different aromas; notes of yellow flowers mixed with fruity hints of yellow fruit, leave room for hints of minerals and aromatic herbs. Fresh on the palate, the taste is pleasantly sapid, also the persistence is good.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with fish and also with shellfish. Try it with mixed grilled fish.
