THE WINE
The Tokaji Aszù of the Samuel Tinon winery is a bland of Furmint grapes for 90%, and Harslevelu for 10% grown in the vineyards owned by the winery, We are located in Tokay in Hungary; Here, also thanks to the volcanic soil rich in clay and the ideal microclimate, the most popular grapes of Hungary are grown. This tokaji is the Hungarian sweet wine that has bewitched the palates of all lovers of molds wines for centuries, indeed we can say this is the first ever made wine that has been produced.
The harvest ia strictly manual and takes place once the bunches have been attacked, on the plant, by the noble rot Botrytis cinerea; once in the cellar, the grapes are left to macerate for about a month; the must obtained is then moved to wooden barrels, without covers, for fermentation. After 2 years, the wine is finally ready to be bottled.
Intense golden yellow, tending to amber. The aroma is crazy, hints of candied fruit alternate with bitter notes of orange and lemon peel which in turn alternate with sensations of honey. Intense and full-bodied on the palate, pleasantly fresh, with a very elegant finish.
Ideal with blue cheeses, this sweet wine is also perfect with Chinese or Indian cuisine but also with the more traditional dry pastry.
Even if you don’t like sweet wines, this is one that is absolutely worth trying.
