THE WINE
The Traminer of the Obiz winery is produced with 100% Traminer grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery and located near Aquileia in Friuli Venezia Giulia. This is a great area for the viticulture since Roman times, as evidenced by the numerous amphorae that were found inside the property. The alluvial soil, rich in clay and sand; the proximity to the Adriatic sea and the protection of the Julian Alps allow the cultivation of the vine with excellent results.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual and occurs in the early dawn hours. Once in the cellar, the grapes are softly pressed after a short maceration on the skins at a controlled temperature of 12°C. Fermentation takes place in steel and lasts about ten days. The wine then ages on the lees in steel barrels and is bottled in the spring following the harvest.
The Obiz winery practices integrated pest management and since 2017 has been cultivating its vines according to the regulations set out in the Disciplinary.
THE TASTING
Brilliant straw yellow. The aroma is intense and complex, with pleasant notes of rose and thyme that leave room for light fruity scents with citrus puffs. Fresh and fragrant on the palate, this is a well-balanced wine with remarkable persistence and excellent correspondence between aromas and flavours.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with fish, shellfish and seafood. Also try it with soft cheeses.
