The wine Traminer Passito by the Borgo Delle Oche Winery
The Traminer Passito from the Borgo delle Oche winery is made from 100% Traminer grapes growing in vineyards owned by the vinery. We are in Valvasone in the Province of Udine, in the heart of the DOC Grave, another amazing wine production area in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Borgo delle Oche believes the wine is done in the vineyard and, you have to be careful not to ruin it in the cellar; for this reason, the winery practices artisanal cultivation in the vineyard without the use of pesticides or chemical substances; once in the cellar, they rely on long fermentations and the cold.
This Traminer Passito, sweet but not cloying, fully enhances the characteristics of the grapes with which it is produced. A wine that will amaze you and that represents the winery that produces it very well.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest, strictly manual, takes place when the grapes are sub-ripe. The bunches are placed in boxes and left to dry for at least two months in ventilated rooms. Winemaking begins with the soft and slow pressing of the grapes which are then moved to steel tanks for fermentation and long refinement. After blending and bottling, the wine rests for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
Tasting the wine Traminer Passito by Borgo Delle Oche
Deep golden yellow, the aroma is delicate with pleasant floral hints of rice that leave room for notes of ripe fruit to finish with puffs of acacia honey. Savory and well structured on the palate with velvety and never-aggressive tannins. This Traminer from the Borgo delle Oche winery is a wine with a very long and persistent finish. Fresh and perfectly balanced on the palate, it explodes in the mouth with an almost perfect correspondence between aromas and flavors. Long and persistent finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent meditation wine, this Traminer goes well with blue cheeses or dark chocolate.
