THE WINE
Le Busche is one of the first wines produced by the Umani Ronchi winery; the first bottle dates 1986; initially, it was a blend of Chardonnay grapes, Verdicchio with a small part of Sauvignon Blanc; today, Le Busche is 100% Chardonnay grapes, grown in the Busche vineyard from which the wine takes its name.
An elegant and pleasantly mineral wine that well represents the territory from which it comes; it is ideal for your fish dinners with family or friends.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual and occurs between the end of August and the first ten days of September when the grapes are fully ripe. Once in the cellar, the grapes are softly pressed, and only the free-run must is cooled and left to decant statically. The must ferments in oak barrels in temperature-controlled rooms for 10-15 days. The refinement also takes place in oak barrels so that the wine remains in contact with the fermentation yeasts, and lasts about six months. After assembly and bottling, the wine rests for another six months in the cellar before being released onto the market.
THE TASTING
Golden straw yellow with greenish reflections. The aroma is fresh with pleasant hints of wildflowers like daisy and chamomile that leave room for exotic fruit and vanilla to close with spicy hints. Fresh and soft to the palate, Le Busche is a full-bodied, velvety wine, with an excellent correspondence between the aromas and flavour and a long and persistent finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Le Busche pairs well with white meat, fish and medium-hard cheeses. Try it with a fish soup.
