The Wine
The Vero from the Romaldo Greco winery is 100% Verdeca grapes, an indigenous Apulian vine that grows on the land owned by the winery. We are in Seclì in the province of Lecce, a flat area (76 meters above sea level) where the soil is generally clayey.
A very balanced, full-bodied and fresh wine, ideal for evenings with friends but also to be enjoyed daily.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest, which takes place between the end of September and the beginning of October, is strictly manual; the selected grapes are collected in small boxes and taken immediately to the cellar for winemaking. After soft pressing, the must macerates on the skins for about 12 – 15 days. Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in steel tanks. The wine then ages for approximately 4 months in steel. After blending and bottling, the wine rests in the cellar for a few more months before being released on the market.
THE TASTING
Bright straw yellow; the aroma is intense, with pleasant hints of white pulp fruit that alternate with notes of white flowers to finish with hints of Mediterranean scrub. Harmonious on the palate, a wine from the Romaldo Greco winery with good freshness supported by a touch of flavour and minerality.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with white meat, fish and shellfish, even raw.
