A bit of history

The Jacuss winery was founded in 1990 when the owners, Sandro and Andrea Iacuzzi, decided to focus exclusively on producing wine, their passion; before they did mixed agriculture.

The winery produces about 50,000 bottles a year; Sandro and Andrea Iacuzzi have paid particular attention, over the years, to renewing the work in the vineyard and the cellar to constantly improve both the grape cultivation and the wine while remaining tied to tradition. Here, wine is made as in the old days.+

The winery

We are in Montina di Torreano, in the Colli Orientali del Friuli in a family-run winery located in an area particularly suited for the cultivation of vines also thanks to the subsoil rich in Pietra Piasentina that gives an almost unique note to the wine. This is also the kingdom of native vines such as Verduzzo Friulano, Tazzelenghe, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Schioppettino and his majesty Picolit. Still, the Jacuss winery, in addition to native vines, cultivates Friulano (which in the region is considered native) and international vines such as Sauvignon, Pinot Bianco, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Today, the s winery is a protagonist in the wine world; it is present at the most important international exhibitions in the world and has contributed to making both “Made in Italy” and Friuli Venezia Giulia known to most thanks to the extremely high-quality of their wines.

Why should you visit the winery

If you stop by the winery, you can visit the small corkscrew gallery, where you can admire about 150 examples, a historical instrument born in England a couple of centuries ago. You can also admire the attic of the manor house, which today is used as a fruit cellar, and is where the small bunches of Picolìt wither; those bunches produce about 500 bottles a year of this very high-quality wine.
