The Ramandolo wine is one of the most important products of the Maurizio Zaccomer Company. Located in Nimis, in the province of Udine.
The wine
It is a sweet white wine, with an intense golden yellow color. The bouquet is fruity with hints of almond and dried exotic fruit. On the palate sweet, slightly tannic that distinguishes it and robust in the body.
The alcohol content is 13.5%. The variety of grapes used is 100% Verduzzo Friulano. The serving temperature is between 12 and 14 ° C.
Its production
The harvest takes place at the end of October through manual harvesting. It is seated by a light maceration with temperature control, soft pressing of the skins in the lung press. Fermentation at controlled temperature and maintenance on the lees for about 12 months in stainless steel tanks.
Appearance and taste
It is a crystalline-looking wine. The color is rich gold with copper reflections.
The taste of this wine is sweet but fresh and savory, warm, almost velvety, full and very persistent. The aftertaste is sapid and as we have already said it has composite and fruity aromas.
History
Thanks to studies conducted by the University of Udine, it is proving that Verduzzo Friulano is an ancient vine. It was in fact cultivated long before the arrival of the Romans in Friuli. The DNA of this vine testifies to the arrival of the vinifera plants from the Middle East, through the temperate zones of Central Europe.
In 1823 we have the first historical attestation of Verduzzo (Di Maniago, Verduzzo: white from bottle and cask). The ampelographic exposition in Udine dates back to 1863: this grape was considered worthy of the first place among the homegrown white wines and among all highly recommended. Towards the end of 800 the Verduzzo turns out to be the most important and widespread variety of our region thanks above all to its rusticity and resistance to diseases (Oidium).
In the early 1900s the Verduzzo producers won numerous prizes at the exhibitions of the time, both with the “dry” and “apassito” versions, and among these the most appreciated were the liqueur wines of Ramandolo. Also sought after its quality of “foaming”. In 1970 Ramandolo was recognized as a particularly amiable and fruity version of Verduzzo. In 1992 the “Ramandolo” sub-zone of the D.O.C. was recognized and qualified. Eastern hills of Friuli. In 2001 the establishment of the D.O.C.G. “Ramandolo” becomes the first in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
It is therefore a wine with a very old history and very good reviews! Do not miss the chance to taste it!
Good day
