Indigena Wine School

Indigena wine school, born from a project by Ian D’Agata, scientific director of Vinitaly. An important event that allows people from all over the world to greatly expand their knowledge on fine Piedmontese wine.

The idea

The idea is to transform the Piedmontese castles of Costigliole D’Asti and Barolo into classrooms for the study and promotion of the “Made in Italy” wine and gastronomic excellences. Dedicated to emerging professionals from all over the world. It will be called Italian and International Indigena Center for wine and food studies. From the beginning of May, it will open for the first time the doors to about thirty students from China, USA, Sweden, Canada, Australia and many other places. They will arrive in Italy with the aim of training and taking part in a professional program of the highest level for sommeliers, importers and agents of the food and wine sector, PR of food & wine, educators, bloggers and journalists, managers and managers of chains and restaurants.

The event

The event will start on 3 and 4 May and will be hosted in Piedmont, in addition to the students of the course, prestigious wine & food experts. They will be engaged in conventions, conferences and educational tastings dedicated to the various native varieties of Piedmontese grapes, and of the wines that derive from them. The weekend of 5 and 6 May will be dedicated to Barolo. From 9 to 11 May in Costigliole d’Asti to discover the richness of the vines and wines of Monferrato.

From May 3 will arrive at the Castle of Barolo thirty students to follow the master classes and tastings focused on Piedmont. These students, however, are already all professionals and this in fact will be a chance to expand their knowledge and compare with each other. In addition to wine, a specific focus on the products of Piedmont to have a 364-degree knowledge of the territory that hosts them: rice, cheese, breadsticks and chocolate.

It will therefore not be just an event, but a real intensive one-week course, followed by a strict examination.
