The Dino Turco winery

These are the hills of the Collio di Gorizia to frame the Dino Turco winery. In the locality of Perilla in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio. The Turkish family has dedicated itself with passion for 3 generations to the production of fine wines.

The vineyards

The vineyards cover about 10 hectares of land, have dense plants and are still set up to obtain limited yields. In full compliance with the provisions of the production regulations of the Collio. Excluding a small part in common of Prepotto, are distributed on a flat area at an altitude of about 96 m.s.l. all to surround the family house with an adjoining cellar. Their position towards the south-east ensures perfect ripening of the grapes and therefore the high quality of winemaking. The soil is worked with love and the vines are kept day after day.

The wines

The company produces about 25 thousand bottles a year, in addition to the wine sold in bulk. Among the labels are the white Friulano and Oro Bianco wines, next to which are Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Traminer Aromatico, Ribolla Gialla, Chardonnay, Verduzzo Friulano.

The company also produces red wines in the Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Schioppettino, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Rosso del Pensiero varieties and the recipient Rosso Perilla. The absolute novelty is the Perlis sparkling wine made from Ribolla Gialla grapes.

The territory

It is called Collio the suggestive northern hill range of the province of Gorizia. This territory, highly suited to valuable viticulture, extends close to the border with Slovenia and develops, almost uninterruptedly, along an ideal East – West route, presenting gentle reliefs with large surfaces exposed to the south. The climate is particularly mild and temperate, in fact the proximity of the Julian Prealps is an effective shelter from the cold winds and the proximity of the Adriatic Sea helps to limit the temperature changes; the soils are formed by alternating layers of marl and sandstone. These environmental factors have favored the cultivation of vines, in this small corner of Friuli Venezia Giulia, since ancient times.

A really beautiful winery to visit that produces really good wines. Do not miss the chance to taste them!

Good day

Ilde
