The Moschioni winery

The Moschioni company is characterized by its quality research. Their project is to continue to improve their wine. Thanks to their commitment, they have received valuable international recognition as “the fatigue prize”: the demonstration that “we must give ourselves inside”.

The cellar

During winemaking, this company does not use improper yeasts or enzymes but only indigenous. Fermentation takes place in 60-quintal wooden vats with manual pressing, without temperature control. At the end of the fermentation, the wine is de-activated and the aging in French oak barriques begins for 13 months. At the end of the refining period the wine is assembled in large wooden barrels and remains there for a whole year. It follows the bottling without any filtration and the rest in the bottle for a further 6-8 months.

The vineyards

The soil on which the vines are born is of fundamental importance for the result I want to achieve. The density for the older plants is 4200 plants / hectare, for the more recent 5800 plants / hectare. No herbicides or desiccants, only organic fertilizers: the environmental impact of treatments is minimal.

The vineyards extend over 14 hectares of grassland, 150 meters above sea level. Puffs, thinning, harvesting and dry pruning are exclusively manual. The grapes, harvested manually between September and October in late harvest, are placed in 4 kg boxes or in a 80 x 120 cm platform. The yields per strain range from cultivars to cultivars: from 600g to 2kg, yields per hectare equal to 30-50 quintals.

The wines

Here is a short list of some of their products:

Rosso Bisest 2010 15% alcohol

Wine with an intense color, dark ruby red, consistent. Complex olfactory panorama: strawberry jam, prunes, undergrowth, maraschino, followed by tobacco, chocolate and spices. Perfectly balanced sip, smooth tannin that reflects the maturity of this wine that envelops the palate.

Schioppettino 2009 15.5% alcohol

Dense ruby with garnet hues, it expresses dark notes of pepper, tobacco, chocolate and liquorice on the nose, wrapped in a balsamic freshness. Enveloping and corresponding, with a large structure with a tannic texture still vibrant and evolving.

Schioppettino 2004 16% alcohol

Dense garnet red dress. Olfactory complexity of rare workmanship and persuasive elegance. In the foreground ripe fruit, dried violet, macerated strawberries. And more cocoa, white pepper, graffiti. Enveloping and substantial, full-bodied sip that is round on the palate thanks to the tannins pleasantly smoothed by time.

The Moschioni winery deserves to be visited and their wines to be tasted, for sure you will appreciate their magnificent creations!

Good day
