Nonno Andrea is a biodiverse farm. It has been wonderful to take a walk among the orchards and the vegetable garden of this agricultural reality located in Villorba in the fertile plain near Treviso. I has the change to breath scents, memories, emotions. The great respect for the ecosystem, the order and the cleanliness that you find visiting the farm, gives you a feeling of security and tranquility. Highly recommended.
The Family
But who is Nonno Andrea? A family history, that started more than 25 years ago, linked to an important agricultural tradition. I got to meet the two partners. Paolo and Enrico, two different personalities but both driven by a great passion, perseverance, devotion and love for what they do. I felt very welcomed into their Farm Made, I was able to taste the freshly picked apricots from their orchard. To visit the laboratory where the freshly harvest fruit and vegetables get preserved. Here the cleaning and organization is extreme and the products are processed and cooked at low temperatures. In the heart of the company there is the corner shop where sweet compotes, pickles, creams and all their products, 100% natural, are sold.
The Products
Nonno Andrea’s products really make you think of something genuine and straightforward. I love their red cherry tomatoes with lemon zest and basil to dress my pasta or as a side dish for a plate of San Daniele raw ham. During the autumn period, on the other hand, I eat the crunchy pumpkin in sour with onion and sultanas accompanied by a hard cheese. I must also recommend the Treviso red radicchio, the one in oil with pink pepper and clementine. But Nonno Andrea also produces wonderful creams that are perfect for dressing pastas, creaming risottos and stuffing your appetizers. You cannot fail to try the cream of courgettes and Sicilian capers, the asparagus one but also the red radicchio and truffle. Then when low temperatures approach, holidays arrive and you have the desire to sit around a fireplace in the company of good friends, why not prepare a good mixed boiled meat and combine it with radicchio and horseradish cream. I trust in having made you want something good …. If so, you can choose from our site the tasting kits we have reserved for you.
The Project
Nonno Andrea is not only attention to the environment, but it is also a company sensitive to the human aspect and demonstrates it with many actions. The project that characterizes them most is the “crema cuore fondente” (“melting heart cream”) developed with the autistic children of the “Oltre Il Labirinto” Foundation. Based on the idea of creating a high quality product (a spread of hazelnuts and cocoa), the project defines that the labeling and packaging of the cream is carried out by the boys and girls of the Oltre Il Labirinto and the sale of this spread finance the creation of the multifunctional laboratory of Vascon.
